Put yourself in Zidane's shoes!!! for one second?

I'm not trying to defend him, he can go to hell for all I care but we don't know what the Italian player said to him, if it was me and he said something about my family or my country I think I would have done much more than what he did, I would have beat the crap out of the dude specially if I know I'm going to retire from the sport..who cares about the awards or what people would say!!!

Put yourself in Zidane's shoes!!! for one second?
i agree with you, except that he also should have been thinking about what it would do to his team. he didn't just have himself and his own rep to consider; he should have been thinking of all his teammates who were counting on him. and wasn't he the captain of the team?
Reply:if he said something about my family id brake his neck
Reply:yeah o.k beat him up but do it after the match so u dont get sent off. He deserved 2 get sent off but it would of been well funny if he beat him up after the match as well
Reply:i would have killed all the italians
Reply:The awards are important as well as what people say. At an event that the world cup each player is representing his country and Zidane did wrong and got what he deserved
Reply:Why is he not saying what was said. He's waiting for what? If it was being called a dirty terrorist as reported he should have come out imediately that way Materazzi would be punished. I think it's a little suspicious him keeping quiet, he was probaly just as bad and Marco told him off. You see all the comments in here regarding the Italian team you don't think Zizou has done his own dirty work too.
Reply:I lose my cool during football matches all the time, I have a terrible temper so i can understand Zidane. Just something I think I am smart enough to do and Zidane should be smart enough to do in the 2nd extra time of the world cup final. Plenty of ways to get back at him without obtaining a red card...
Reply:Yes u r defending him!!!

I wouldn't beat with my head in Materazzi's cheste,i've said smth verbal.Zidane sucks
Reply:Nobody who has self respect will take an insult to his religion ,country,or family. It seems the insult was serious and Materazzi was provoking Zidane multiple times, and simply he crossed the line with the last insult describing him a "dirty terrorist" and Zidane just couldn't take it anymore.FIFA should think more how to fight racial discrimination instead of thinking how to make more money.
Reply:Nobody should defend Zidane! Because what Zidane did is absolutely right. He punished his tormentor then and there. Yes, I put myself in Zidane's shoes and I've already beaten Materazzi to death.
Reply:i just felt resentmnet for him, it was his last big game... so sad
Reply:Still, you are the leader of your team. Your are SUPPOSED to exemplify what good sportsmanship is. Regardless of what the other guy said about his country. If I was in the US squad and some other guy from another team started to say how weak Americans are...I wouldn't lose my cool. In the end, the other guy ends up looking like a jerk.
Reply:i agree with you, it should have been a fair game, no one suppose to say anything very offensive to anyone...
Reply:i totally agree with you. If he said something like that to me, i'm pretty sure I would've done that or something worse.
Reply:He knew that the game was going to go at PK and knew that they were going to lose.He left 'cause he knew, the bastard,he did what he did so everyone would remember him even 20 years from now.
Reply:Thank god somebody posted something like this because this happens all of the time not necisarly on International tv with 1 billion viewers but nonetheless his actions are replicated in different forms on the pitch at all levels.
Reply:You may have a point there! On the other hand...I personally believe that Zizou should have just walked away from ' it '. IE: Show you can "rise above such crap!"

Extra: Since Zizou has had the uncanny habit of doing this sort of thing on previous occasions...he should try to learn to be more emotionally controlled even if its so very hard to do so.

Epilogue: Anyway...hes retired now. Some dont care. Maybe he doesnt care either?.
Reply:According to a lip reader quoted by ABC news here in Tampa, Materrazzi said, "I hope you and your family die slow deaths." Zidane's mother was supposedly diagnosed as deathly ill and Zidane had just learned of it. Obviously, the italian must have known it as well. Imagine being at the hospital with your mom and some stranger telling them I hope you die slow. I probably would've decked him too. PS. I think it was said after the terrorist comment right as Zidane turned to walk away. If the Italian didn't know about his mother, he just pushed the wrong button at the wrong time and still needs to apologize.

Reply:He has paid dearly for his actions. Both players were to be reprimanded and the matter investigated.Religion is personal %26amp; he had the right to feel offensive ,although not by physical retaliation,he was too impuslive..As for the italian player he learned his lesson the hard way not to make unethical remarks!

Zinadine lacked discipline at that moment, his forgiven by his fans!

We are all human,he will be remembered by his excellent physique and being a legendary soccer player of our time.I place him in the catogary of "Pele".Well don Zidane for wonderful entertainment and being a real gentleman.I must say he knows how to deal with pushovers!Thanx for the great Worldcup 2006,France was fantastic and a geat challenge!Memorable moments...
Reply:i'd probably do much more than that aswell but i don't know what he said and i don't know who or what he is like soi don't exactly know what i'd do to be honest with you but i would do something really bad because there's no excuse to bully anyone, IT'S ONLY A GAME PEOPLE!!!
Reply:Zidane is probably one of my favorite players. i think he should have beat the hell out of the italian guy. i mean if i were in his shoes, i would kick that guys *** if he called me a terrorist or even called my mom and sister prostitutes. i mean who cares, it was his last game. nothin would have happened to him. france should have won anyway. F*** italy.
Reply:you're right, that fight wasn't about the cup, the game, the team, it seems like it was about having PRIDE and not letting anybody step over you!!!
Reply:shame on you aniti-Italian. People like you which hate should be locked up in jail. Zidane had no right to hit anyone. trash talk happens all the time to defend the attacker shows what type of blood thrusty evil person you are. you should goto jail you anti-Italian criminal.
Reply:Wow, I'm sick of reading the same types of questions over and over. Anyways, I can careless what anyone thinks because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, by far the worst comment was the one saying "zidane give the f*cking ball back you terrorist." Like, seriously how low can you get calling him a terrorist? We all know you hate him but that doesn't give you the right to call someone a terrorist. He is a futball player, nothing more, nothing less. So, please kindly keep your insensitive comments to yourself.
