October Sale in NY area?

Hello,


Me (44) and wife (38) will be traveling in mid October to New York area and was wondering if there is a sale season or weekend on Jackets, sweaters, pants, sports, shoes, etc.





I have been in a big mall, call Woodbury Common (or similar) about 10/15 minutes after the Tapan Zee Bridge, probably not longer in NY (I Think). Do you know something better than this?





Well, the question is:


1) Best places for shopping, good quality at best possible prices. (Nautica, Gap, Izod, DKNY, Nike, etc.)





2) Is October a good time for sale?

There are wonderful Columbus Day sales at Macy's and Lord %26amp; Taylor's. You get an extra 15 or 20% off if you open a new charge account and the newspapers The Daily News and The Post have 15% off coupons a few days before the sale.
