I am into karate first and foremost and I am trying to find some high quality running shoes for my running which is my primary method of warming up. Also I have built up the habit of running in the morning , from 6 am to 8 am. My usual routes are 1,5 miles long that are incorporated in the trainings of my primary sport that is in the evening. But that is not just enough for me. I would like to run in the morning, just as I've stated but need a comfortable pair that wont wore off. I am in a very good shape and endurance and comfort are high on my list. Tanks for your help. I was thinking along the lines of Nike or Asics...
Also, you would be of tremendous help if you could name some details about certain models of running shoes.
Thanks a lot.
What would be the best running shoes for the occasional runner, trying to upgrade it's running distances ?
All of the major brands make good shoes.
Go to a running store and try on some shoes.
Buy what feels good and fits your foot.
If you only run a few miles any good shoe will last you a long time.
Depending on your weight a shoe can last up to 500 miles.
If you are running on pavement get a shoe with cushioning, more so than what you would need if you run on grass or dirt.
Reply:since you run occasionally, I would suggest checking some of the outlet or clearance shoe stores to save some cash and get an off-year shoe.
I got a pair of Saucony Grid Cohesion (i think) at DSW for only about $40. Pretty good price.
They are extremely light, comfortable, and ventilated. There are vent holes in the sides so you can feel the air on your feed. Of course this is a band thing if running in the rain.

Go to a store, get properly fitted, try different brands on, run on a treadmill, and find out which are best for your feet. If you want to get more serious, get serious about your shoes.
Reply:okay
it depends on what distance your into.
short or long.
long distance: no studs (disqualification) just maybe some puma, nike or asics everyday runners.
short distance: studs. asics provide good studs as well as nike and puma.
Reply:It doesn't matter about the running shoes. It depends on the runner!
Reply:Just try on the shoes that you think fit well and are comfortable. My favorite brand is Nike, but that is my preference. Different brands for different people. Make sure that you get the right size and they don't hurt in any way. If you have a Fleet Feet in your area, try going there. They have great expertise in running. If possible, try to stay off pavement while running. They will wear your shoes out more and it is harder on your legs. Try running on a trail, dirt or grass. I hope I helped! Good luck in your running.
