Is it...
A. Footwear is determined by the type of sport (everyone wears the same thing regardless or they don't participate; you wear the proper gear before you arrive)
B. Footwear is determined by what the majority wears (if you are wearing shoes and socks and most others are playing barefoot, you take off your shoes and socks)
C. Footwear is determined by whoever is wearing the least amount (if one person is playing in bare feet, you all remove your shoes and socks and play barefoot too to keep the game fair)
If you are playing casual sports in your yard with friends on a warm day, what is the rule for footwear?
I think it is C. If the person who has the least on is barefoot, everyone goes barefoot. This is so for two reasons. One it puts that person at a disadvantage when playing the sport. The second reason is someone could step on their foot and it will hurt.
Reply:To each their own, why would it matter? I generally don't wear shoes for anyone!
Reply:Barefoot!
Reply:I've always gone by
D: Whatever you show up wearing is perfect.
That's assuming sense and reason, of course. Obviously, if you consider "casual sports" something like quad riding, sandals or bare-foot is not an option, but if someone's comfortable playing something like football in bare feet, go for it.
Reply:I say what you show up in is what you wear. If one is in-appropriately attired for the sport, then it is their own fault if their bare feet get stepped on. Who'd play most sports in bare feet anyway - except if it was beach volleyball or something like that.
Reply:D. Footwear is determined by personal preference unless there's a *serious* necessity for any specific footwear, like no shoes on a trampoline 'cause that'd be very bad for tearing it up, or I suppose barefoot rollerblading would be difficult.
I don't like people trying to tell me I have to wear shoes, I would never tell anyone what they had to wear on their feet unless there was a *very* compelling reason. I've played games where I was the only barefooter and I can't remember ever being stepped on or anything.
Reply:Footwear is determined by the individuals. If they like barefoot that is what they do. If they like shoes they wear shoes. How complicated does a casual game of whats-it have to be?
